This past weekend I received a special delivery from Mazda. A sporty Mazda3 S Grand Touring 4-door in Titanium color with Almond interior showed up on my front door waiting for me to take it for a test drive. So in honor of Valentine’s Day, I took a drive to San Diego for a weekend getaway. I figured if I went on a 104 mile drive, it would give me an opportunity to get to know the car better. And I did.
Taking the Mazda3 S for a Drive
The first thing I noticed about the Mazda 3’s 4-door is how smooth it is, despite of its 2.0-liter. It’s definitely not an underpowered vehicle as some may think. Personally, the car felt just right, which helped for the long commute to San Diego from Los Angeles. As you can tell from the photos, the Mazda3 features an excellent exterior design, and interior design and build quality has improved dramatically as well. Also, you can’t help to notice the big, bright infotainment screen on top of the dash, which the tech geek in me loves, plus it’s perfect when you need to use its navigation feature. The vehicle also offers a manual transmission, in case you want to have more control.
Some would compare the vehicle to a Mazda Miata, because of its steering feel. One thing for sure is that the Mazda 3 continues to offer a sporty feel, making it an easier all-weather car to live with, especially because it’s 4-doors. How else can a family man or woman drive an affordable sporty car? It’s just impossible to have 2-doors when you have children. Which would definitely make this a is a family-friendly car, and you can also add luggage, with plenty of room in the back!
If you’re thinking of getting the sporty Mazda, you’ll enjoy a smooth and efficient engine, a premium interior and you’ll have the most attractive car on the block!
