Top Ten Most Requested Tech Gifts for Mother’s Day

0 5

Mother’s Day is May 8th, but for some of us Latinos, Dia de las Madres is May 10th.  So if you’re late finding mom a gift, you still have three additional days to shop and we have some pretty great tech gifts for Mother’s Day that she will love.

Times have definitely changed and so have the needs of many women.  With technology constantly evolving, its pretty much a part of our everyday life.  Everyone is using technology some way or another and so is mom.  So what gadgets do they find themselves using more or want to use more of?  It was a question that I was really curious about, so I asked 40 different moms what they MOST wanted for Mother’s Day, and here’s what they requested:

Top Requested Mother’s Day Gadgets

1.Fitbit alta

Congrats to fitbit for being the most requested Mother’s Day gift this year. Some requested the fitness tracking gadget because they don’t currently own one, or have one, but want an upgrade.  The fitbit alta is one of the brand’s newest additions to the the fitbit family.  This gadget not only tracks your activity, but it also sends reminders, tracks your sleeping patterns and tells time.  The difference between the alta and the older versions, this one also sends notifications when someone calls, texts and calendar alerts.  fitbit.com, $130

2.Laptop

Second most requested gadget this year was a laptop.  When I asked them what type of laptop, they didn’t really care as long as it does the job.  So depending on moms profession and needs, a laptop would be a much appreciated gift.  Laptops can run between $300-$2000, once again, depending on their needs.  If she just wants a laptop for web browsing, I recommend the Toshiba Chromebook 2 CB35, $297

3.GoPro, Hero4 Silver

Surprised to see a GoPro on the list? I’m not, after all, its usually mom who wants to save all the special family moments.  From vacations, to family gatherings and other special memories, mom can really enjoy herself using a GoPro4.  This action camera features great quality video, 12MP photos up to 30 frames per second, built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and is also waterproof to 131’ (40m).  Imagine all the wonderful vacation videos and photos she would create and share on Facebook.  GoPro, $400

4.Apple iWatch

For all the iOS moms out there, the Apple iWatch would be a nice accessory to add to her jewelry collection.  I would skip the earrings or the family tree necklace and get her an accessory that will help keep her organized and on time.  With so many colors and metals to choose from, not only would she look stylish, but she would also be able to keep track of her activity and healthy routines.  Apple.com, $300

5.iPad Pro

Since we’re on the Apple conversation, another pricey but worth it gift is the iPad Pro.  Mom can enjoy working on this new light tablet to even enjoying some of her favorite TV shows on Netflix.  Plus, she may even let you borrow it.  Apple.com, from $599

6.Sony a6000 E-mount Camera

Turn your mom into a professional photographer with the Sony a6000.  Not only is this camera 2x smaller than a DSLR, but it also shoots better and faster than that bulky thing.  That means mom will never miss a moment.  I actually own this camera and I love it!  It definitely turned me into a passionate photographer and if you follow me on Instagram, you’ll see why.  This camera takes amazing, sharp photos and is super light to  carry around.  Once mom gets more comfortable with one lens, you can always upgrade her every year.  It’s the gift that keeps on giving.  Sony.com, $450

7.Dyson V6 Cordless Vacuum

This isn’t just another vacuum, this is a Dyson V6 cordless vacuum.  What’s the difference between this vacuum and any other vacuum?  Well, first of all, if you missed the first part, it’s cordless.  Enough said.  But if you need to know more, besides not having to worry about being attached to a wall and have liberty to jump from one room to another, this baby only weighs 4.5 lbs.  Its lightweight and cordless body can go from picking up dirt on the floor to cleaning light fixtures.  Its super powerful and its cordless.  If mom has carpet in her home, she will love this gift, over and over and over. Dyson.com, $300

8.Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

Okay, I can see why mom would want the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.  With so many reasons to love this smartphone, my favorite feature so far is its long lasting battery and its water resistant.  If mom loves to take photos and video, she doesn’t have to worry about running out of space, because it also has microSD card support.  If that isn’t enough, this smartphone makes an awesome camera!  The camera alone is worth buying mom this gadget.  Oh and I almost forgot, it makes calls too. Verizon.com

9.Sony High Power Home Audio System with Bluetooth

C’mon lets be real, Latinas love music and so does mom.  How many times has mom woken you up early on a Saturday morning to clean your room? Well, it’s time to upgrade her audio system with Sony’s light up portable speaker.  The GTK-XB7 is tailor-made for dance music, innovative EXTRA BASS technology and deliver deep, punchy bass sound.  Your mom will be able bring a festival feel to any party with this powerful one-box system. EXTRA BASS™ and vibrant speaker lights combine to create club-style atmosphere that’s perfect for all her house parties.  I mean, family gatherings… Sony.com, $350

10.Apple TV

Either I have too many iOS mom friends, or Apple is just a loved brand by many women.  That includes the content they want to watch on TV.  With all the new apps on TV’s these days, mom can get an Apple TV and just tell her TV exactly what she wants to watch. She can also ask Siri to give her a few options, like “Show me popular TV shows.” Siri automatically searches across popular services like iTunes, Netflix, and more, so she doesn’t have to dig through each app individually. Ask to hear an album that just dropped, and Siri starts playing it from Apple Music.* She can even ask Siri to find or launch a specific app.  How awesome is that?! AppleTV.com, from $150

I know we honor our moms everyday, but showing a little extra love on Mother’s Day certainly doesn’t hurt.  So tell me, which gadget would you add to your mama’s wishlist this year?
