Instagram announced a new feature that allows you to poll your followers via an interactive poll sticker. You can now type a question, customize the choices, and see real-time results within the app.
How it works
- Take a photo or video through Instagram Stories
- Swipe up to reveal the sticker drawer
- Select the “poll” sticker and place it wherever you want
- Type your questions and choose the answers for your voters
- Click publish
- Swipe up to see results
The poll is now available to anyone who views your story and they will be able to vote and see the real-time results. Voters are also able to follow the competition by clicking your story a second time to view updated scores. In case you’re wondering, participants are not able to see the names of other voters. And as always, the poll disappears in 24 hours.
In addition to the new feature, you’ll also have access to tools that allow your stories to be even more creative. Instagram introduced a color picker for text, brushes, and an alignment tool. While on iOS, blue lines will appear when you position text or a sticker on your photo or video — this will help you perfect your alignment or avoid placing it where it could potentially get covered up when someone watches your story.
