Isabel Gutierrez is the founder and CEO of Vistendo Inc., which she launched in college inspired by her sister’s undiagnosed head injury. A former soccer player and certified first responder, she leads Vistendo’s mission to enable early detection of injuries and illness, supported by experts from Johns Hopkins, Caltech, and Stanford. As Principal Investigator on projects with the U.S. Defense Health Agency and Defense Threat Reduction Agency, she advances mTBI detection and AI-driven threat prediction to improve real-time diagnostics and injury prevention for athletes and military personnel.
Gutierrez has been honored as a Cal State “Made in the CSU” Distinguished Alumna, Bronco Rising Star, and SDC 2023 Young Entrepreneur of the Year, receiving Congressional and State Legislature recognition for her impact and innovation. She mentors through the Ingeniera Foundation and Cal Poly Pomona Mentoring Program, serves on multiple Cal Poly leadership boards, and is a motivational speaker at events such as the Cal State Universities Graduation Initiative Symposium. Outside of work, she volunteers as an elementary school teacher, is a member of Classic kickboxing, and plays flag football.
