Lauren Lizárraga oversees and manages the five educational Programs housed within the TELACU Education Foundation (TEF), a non-profit affiliate of TELACU, the largest Community Development Corporation in the United States. These programs collectively serve two-thousand first-generation high school students, college students, nursing school students, and veterans on an annual basis, supporting them in their pursuit of higher education and eventual professional employment.
Under Lauren’s leadership, TEF has continued to focus on empowering Latinx STEM students with the goal of increasing Latinx representation in STEM industries. The most rewarding part of her job is being able to collaborate with and manage a team of thirty remarkable individuals who provide direct services to TEF’s students. In 2015, Lauren received her Master of Science in Social Entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California, graduating from the Program’s inaugural cohort. Lauren completed her undergraduate degree in 2011 at Azusa Pacific University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. When not in the office, Lauren teaches Yin Yoga in Pasadena, CA.
