Sandra is a learner; whatever the subject always drawn by the process of learning. Sandra has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a Master’s Degree in International Business. Sandra started her professional career back in her country, Colombia, in the public sector. She worked as an economic analyst for the department of national statistics. Sandra moved to the United States in 2003, where she had the opportunity to participate in an intentional exchange program with the Trade Development Alliance of Greater Seattle and the Economic Development Council of Seattle King County. After completing her master’s degree at Seattle University, Sandra worked for Expeditors International of Washington; an international logistics company. Her experience includes corporate training, operations auditing and process improvements, and service providers management.
Looking for new experiences Sandra moved to the Tech Industry where she has been working for Microsoft since 2013. At Microsoft, Sandra has been part of different teams including Channel Marketing, Operations, Customer and Partner Experience, and Consumer and Device Sales. Most recently as the lead for the Microsoft Worldwide Customer and Partner Experience Community, and currently, as the Growth Champion for Office and Surface sales for the consumer. Inspired by Microsoft Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, Sandra has been involved with different volunteer organizations within the company to promote learning, career development, and to open doors and share opportunities for minorities. After participating in a #LatinaGeeks event in Seattle in 2018, she fell in love with the mission of the organization and joined the movement as co-lead for the Seattle Chapter. Sandra strongly believes technology is everywhere and impacts us all; it is deeply transforming our society. Everybody should have the option to be part of it and shape the future.
