Suzy Reyes is part of the leadership team for the #LatinaGeeks Chapter of San Diego. She is an integral part of planning, coordinating and executing workshops at outreach events with #LatinaGeeks throughout San Diego. She has been with #LatinaGeeks ever since it was a contributor blog back in 2016 and has remained dedicated to the ever-evolving team. Her passion for connecting with others and making a difference shines through her volunteer work with #LatinaGeeks and beyond.
Her geekiness started in High School where she spent her summers as a Social Media Intern for Sony Electronics. In this role, she worked alongside the Social Media Strategist within the Corporate Communications team and focused on developing integrated communication plans for product launches and seasonal campaigns. She also assisted the team to generate awareness of brand products and campaigns by co-developing, managing, and executing digital content and social media marketing strategies.
Suzy had the blessing of studying abroad at Cambridge University while attending college. It was already her dream to travel outside of the U.S. or South America and this provided her the opportunity of being able to travel to unknown lands like Ireland, Germany, Greece, and Holland to name a few. In total, she has traveled to 10 different countries around the world. She attributes her welcoming personality and ability to look at situations or ideas from different lenses to her experience from traveling.
She finished her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with an emphasis on Mass Media along with a Minor in Marketing from Concordia University in Irvine, CA.
Post-graduating, Suzy has worked with Pacifica Enterprises Group which oversees Belmont Park and Boardwalk along with other clients. Under her direction as Content Coordinator, she has led the research, planning and community management for the organic Digital Presence across the firm including the Amusement Park, 3 restaurants and a fitness facility. This has brought her to be the well-rounded, eager and data-driven marketer she is today. Her proudest achievements at this role have been solely planning and executing social influencer events, leading the Digital Marketing structure for the first-ever New Years’ Eve Beachfront Bash in Mission Beach and producing cutting-edge content for all brands cohesively.
You can find Suzy at all the San Diego and OC Chapter events. She loves to network with her fellow Latinas in technology and shares the common good of the community, friendship and most of all giving back.
