Mission
Our mission is to educate and empower Latinas by sharing technical knowledge, business skills, and entrepreneurship resources through hands-on workshops, strategic partnerships, and community events.
#LatinaGeeks is a nonprofit organization with chapters across the western United States. Our chapters are led by volunteers who are the heart and soul of the organization; their contributions and leadership critical to fulfilling our mission. Lead volunteers play a vital role in helping to create an organizational culture to support and empower women in technology while also fostering global citizens and powerful agents of change here in the United States.
Vision
Since August 2012, our vision has been to make an impact and encourage technology adoption within the community to increase the number of Latinas in technology-related careers.
Our Journey: Empowering Latinas in Tech
In 2012, in a digital world brimming with possibilities yet lacking resources tailored for Latinas, two visionary Latinas founded #LatinaGeeks. Recognizing the critical need for a platform that catered to Latinas interested in technology, they established a pioneering community and media platform dedicated to demystifying the tech landscape.
#LatinaGeeks quickly became a vital hub where emerging tech trends, gadgets, and Digital Marketing insights were not only shared but contextualized to empower and inspire. It highlighted the achievements of influential Latina leaders making significant impacts in their communities, heralding a new era of inclusive tech education.
The initiative’s success led to a significant expansion in 2017, with the introduction of hands-on coding workshops and educational programs to meet the growing demand for real-world tech skills among Latinas. The overwhelming response to these programs propelled the organization to establish itself as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, further solidifying its commitment to nurturing this vibrant community.
Today, #LatinaGeeks continues to thrive with active chapters in Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, and San Diego. As a beacon of progress and empowerment, the organization is dedicated to educating, inspiring, and uplifting Latinas across the tech industry. We’re not just building skills; we’re fostering a movement that celebrates diversity, encourages innovation, and transforms lives through technology.

Launched #LatinaGeeks as a media resource tech blog.
January 2013
Launched Google Hangouts Tech Reviews & partnered with Sony for CES Live Broadcast s.
November 2017
Launched our first hands-on coding workshop - SOLD OUT in 4 Hours with over 250 Latinas on the waiting list .
September 2018
Filed as a 501(c)(3) non-profit and opened chapters across the West Coast .
January 2020
Grew our team, programs, workshops, member base & strategic organization partners .
