MEET OUR SPEAKERS:

Ruby Sherman
Ruby Sherman is an accomplished IT Group Manager at Intuit with an unyielding passion for technology and how it can be leveraged to enhance people’s lives. In addition to her primary role at Intuit, Ruby is also the leader of the Latino Employee Resource group for the San Diego chapter. 

 As a mentor for underrepresented minority high school students with a passion for STEM, Ruby has helped to bridge the gap between education and opportunity. She is committed to helping these students achieve their goals, realize their full potential, and see that there is a place for them in tech. Her dedication to creating a more diverse and inclusive tech landscape is reflected in her ongoing efforts to inspire and empower young people or people with non-traditional backgrounds. 

Ruby also serves as a local chapter volunteer for #LatinaGeeks and is driven to support the elevation and creation of space for more Latinas in the tech industry. 

 

Vanessa Mathew
An accomplished Talent Acquisition leader and certified Organization and Relationship Systems Coach, Vanessa Mathew is known for her innovative strategies and commitment to creating inclusive workplaces. With a solid foundation in leadership and a passion for people, Vanessa has consistently driven transformative change throughout her career. During her nearly 20-year career, Vanessa has brought a deep understanding of the talent landscape, lending valuable insights into the latest trends and best practices in Talent Acquisition. 

Having earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Washington, Vanessa brings a unique cross-cultural perspective to her work. Her academic journey in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico, expanded her global outlook and instilled a deep appreciation for diversity, which has since become a cornerstone of her professional ideology.

 

Dan Chmielewski
Dan is a Talent Acquisition Lead and professional with a decade of industry experience. His journey has taken him from Talent Sourcer to Recruiter and People Manager, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of the interview process. For the past five years, Dan had focused on sourcing and leading teams that search for top talent at Intuit, supporting well-known brands such as QuickBooks, TurboTax, and Mint. 

With an extensive background in Tech, Dan has supported recruitment across technical and non-technical roles, and everything in between. Working across all areas of Talent Acquisition has contributed to my drive to identify exceptional candidates for those hard-to-fill positions. As a Leader, he is fiercely passionate about facilitating connections that drive both career advancement and personal growth. 

Currently, Dan leads the Sourcing Team overseeing areas of hiring for Accelerated Functions, Product Design, and Product Management. His team focuses on external outreach and identifying candidates for Intuit. 

 

Damion Wright
Damion is a highly experienced global leader with over two decades of leadership experience in Sales, Operations, Learning and Development, Talent Acquisition, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.  

He has worked with companies such as Verizon, the Zillow Group, Intuit, Principal and owner of a Consulting Practice, and also consults on two non-profit boards. Damion holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and a Master’s degree in Organizational Performance and Change.  

He is also a former college athlete and NFL player. His life purpose is to bring people together to create exceptional experiences and find the best in every situation through authenticity, integrity, and a growth mindset. 

 

Celeste Dimas
Celeste is a driven and accomplished professional with a passion for connecting people and finding solutions. Born and raised in Idaho, she currently resides in the greater Boise area. Celeste holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Boise State University and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Idaho.

As a people manager at Intuit, Celeste brings a wealth of experience to her role. Prior to her time in tech, she spent 10 years in healthcare, honing her skills in leadership and problem-solving.

As a Latina in tech, Celeste is passionate about having a seat at the table and representing her community in the spaces she occupies. She is the leader of the Intuit Latino Network for the Boise location, where she works tirelessly to connect and empower her colleagues.
