Overview/Description:

The Social Media Community Engagement Coordinator for #LatinaGeeks supports community-building efforts on LinkedIn by actively engaging with followers, amplifying conversations, and increasing visibility of our programs and events. This volunteer focuses on interaction and engagement by responding to comments, engaging with relevant posts, and helping #LatinaGeeks show up consistently and authentically on social media. This role plays a key part in growing awareness, strengthening relationships, and keeping our digital presence active and responsive.

Responsibilities:

  • Community Engagement & Interaction
  • Respond to comments and messages on Instagram in a timely and on-brand manner.
  • Like, comment on, and share relevant posts from partners, speakers, sponsors, and community members.
  • Encourage conversation by asking thoughtful follow-up questions in comments and replies.

Amplifying Content & Voices

  • Engage with posts where #LatinaGeeks is tagged or mentioned.
  • Amplify partner, speaker, and chapter content through comments, reposts, and story shares (as appropriate).
  • Support campaigns, events, and program launches by boosting engagement on key posts.

Audience Growth & Visibility

  • Proactively engage with content from aligned organizations, companies, and creators to increase discoverability.
  • Follow relevant accounts that align with #LatinaGeeks’ mission and audience.
  • Help attract new followers through authentic, relationship-driven engagement.

Event & Program Support

  • Support promotion of upcoming programs and events by engaging with related posts and comments.
  • Monitor event-related content and help answer basic questions in comments or direct followers to the right resources.

Community Care & Moderation

  • Monitor comments and messages for inappropriate content or spam.
  • Flag sensitive issues or concerns to the Executive Director when needed.
  • Help maintain a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming tone across platforms.

Collaboration & Alignment

  • Coordinate with the Marketing Team to align engagement efforts with current campaigns and priorities.
  • Share insights on follower questions, trends, or recurring feedback.

Reporting & Insights

  • Provide brief monthly updates on engagement trends.
  • Flag opportunities for improved engagement or content ideas based on audience response.

Qualifications:

  • Comfortable using LinkedIn regularly.
  • Strong written communication and conversational skills.
  • Reliable, responsive, and able to engage consistently throughout the week.
  • Passionate about uplifting Latinas in technology, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
  • Familiarity with social media engagement or community management is a plus.
