Alana is a proud Latina born in Mexico and raised in Los Angeles. She has an insatiable thirst for knowledge and personal and professional adventure. After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Southern California, she moved to New York to pursue her dream of working in fashion. She found herself working in e-commerce, which was a blessing in disguise. She was pleasantly surprised by how much she enjoyed the data-driven and technical side of things. This newfound passion led her to pivot her career to a full-time role in the tech industry. She stayed in New York to get her MBA. She worked at a series of tech companies that focused on building new technologies across payments (PayPal), computer vision (Amazon), and robotics (Miso).
Alana is passionate about responsible innovation and giving back to others. In her free time, she volunteers, works on her entrepreneurial passion projects, or enjoys quality time with her friends and family.
