As a first-generation college graduate and daughter of Mexican immigrants, Elvia is passionate about supporting Latinas in spaces where they are underrepresented.
With over ten years as a higher education professional, Elvia has continuously supported student success initiatives, all while keeping justice, equity, and inclusion at the forefront. Having earned an M.S. in Instructional Design and Technology and a B.A. in History with an emphasis on race, ethnicity, and migration, her experience is a culmination of her interest in the humanities, education, and technology. Currently, she is the technology and systems operations specialist for the University of Arizona Global Campus Student Affairs Department.
Elvia currently lives in San Diego with her husband and cats. Some of her hobbies include hiking, gardening, and traveling.
