Originally from Barranquilla, Colombia, Jannie works at Reboot Representation as the Tech Coalition Program Manager where she drives all aspects of the Coalition’s operations. She conducts rigorous research and data analysis to inform strategic grant-investment proposals to make recommendations on potential grantees. For more than 10 years, Jannie has managed external stakeholder relationships and leverages her experience in community engagement to bring opportunities to educate, inspire and advocate for the advancement of the Latinx community in the tech sector. She has been a featured speaker at a variety of conferences including the Tapia Conference, Harvard LEAD Conference, the National Center for Women and Information Technology Summit, Infosys Crossroads, and others. Jannie has authored articles featured in the ACM Journal, was recognized as a winner of the WomenTech Global Awards – Cultural Inclusion Category, and has been featured in articles and podcasts that elevate the contributions of Latinas in Technology. Prior to joining Reboot, Jannie worked at the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) as the Director for the K-12 Alliance and TECHNOLOchicas
She obtained her BS in special education with a focus on learning disabilities from Florida International University in Miami, Florida and a Masters’s degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Colorado Boulder. Prior to her work at NCWIT, for over ten years, Jannie taught Biology and Physics and served as Special Education Department Head for a public high school in Miami, Florida. She continued to work with students with disabilities at the University of Colorado Boulder, coordinating accommodation services through the Disability Services office
