Genesis was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. Her mother’s family is from Guayaquil, Ecuador and when she was younger she was able to attend kindergarten in her family’s hometown.
Genesis holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Communication from American University and Masters in Education from Loyola Marymount University. She has an extensive background in social impact, marketing, and project management. Genesis started her career as a Teach for America high school English teacher and prior to transitioning into tech, she worked in the non-profit sector.
Genesis is passionate about serving her community and has had the opportunity to serve on the board of the Surfrider Foundation – SouthBay Chapter. She is beyond thrilled to serve as the Vice President of the #LatinaGeeks Los Angeles Chapter.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time near the ocean!
