Latinas Learn Cloud Computing | Part Two Azure App Services

#LatinaGeeks partnered with Cox Communications to present a webinar on Cloud Computing with Azure App Services.  This webinar was the second session in a two-part series; the first session, hosted on October 7th, 2020 can be found here.

Cloud Computing is the process of delivering and enabling scalable, expandable and almost perfectly elastic software services using internet technologies. It is a method of delivering Software as a Service (SaaS), delivered in a pay-per-use basis. There are three main service models of cloud computing – Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS)(Microsoft)

In this webinar, the #LatinaGeeks community learned that moving to the cloud allows businesses to achieve the benefits of digital transformation. This webinar also provided attendees with a background and understanding of the Azure platform, a hands-on demonstration of building an app through Azure, and a new skill within the cloud computing industry. More specifically, our instructor, Sal Rosales, taught attendees how to utilize Azure to create a web app, how to create code for a starter web app, and how to deploy an app in Azure!

If you were not able to attend, or need a refresher on Azure, Microsoft has shared the slides presented as well as the hands-on replays from the workshop at this link

This session was sponsored by Cox Communications and was represented by Paula Zamudio, Public Affairs Manager. Cox is committed to the diverse community and partnerships with organizations like #LatinaGeeks and has a long-standing commitment to both education as well as diversity and inclusion. Special thanks to Cox Communications for their continued support of #LatinaGeeks!
